Virtual Site Simulations, VSS, was founded in 2013 by Russ Dasta (Product Development) and David Archambault (Business Development) to bring high-quality photo simulations, viewshed analyses, and specialized mapping to the wireless industry. Dedicated to developing the most precise viewshed analysis and photo simulations in the industry, VSS is known for its professional approach to completing client projects accurately and on time. Targeting a national platform, the company began to design VSSview®, a suite of tools that bring speed and precision to complex industry documentation and mapping processes and reports.

These ground-breaking products will further the company’s commitment to helping clients save time, resources, and money and will allow VSS to compete on a national level.

VSSview® Tools:

  • Photo Simulation & Photo Mapping (SIMview®)
  • Historic Documentation (SHPOview®)
  • Schools & Daycare Mapping (S&Dview®)
  • Site Candidate Information package (SCIPview®)
  • Existing Cell Sites Mapping (ECSview®)
  • Interactive ViewShed analysis (IVSview®)

One of first of these products to launch nationwide is SIMview®, an interactive tool for ordering photo simulation and photo mapping reports. As with all VSSview tools, clients use individual login credentials to access the tool, where they upload site-specific photos and information. Subsequently, a complete photo simulation package is generated – typically in 48-72 hours.

“This process historically takes one to two weeks in the industry,” said Archambault. “Our tool significantly cuts that time, in a simple, cost effective way.”

The company’s original goal was to create above-standard photo simulations and viewshed analysis packages for telecommunication providers, but Archambault and Dasta recognized the far-reaching capabilities of their work.  Archambault stated, “We’ve continued to refine these fundamental products. In the process, we’ve identified many opportunities to meet the needs of the industry with innovative technology and automation.”

The majority of VSS’ existing clients are in the wireless industry, but Archambault notes, “The tools will work just as well for commercial construction, windmill and solar engineering, and the standardization of any industry-specific clients’ visual documentation needs.”

Archambault and Dasta bring over 20 years of wireless site acquisition, program design and engineering experience to VSS. The company strives to raise the bar for gathering quality data, business information management, and ensuring consistency across products and vendors with easy-to-navigate data tools.

“We’re enabling our customers to pick the best site from the beginning of the process, before costly qualifying actions or tests are ordered, thus eliminating the need to start from scratch when a site fails for one reason or another,” said Archambault. “We also want to help them prepare for zoning discussions with instant access to all the necessary documentation, saved within the program. Our ultimate goal is to make it easier for our clients to help their customers via high-quality, accurate reporting that’s delivered quickly.”

VSS is located in Narragansett, RI and strives to bring cutting-edge technologies to its clients, streamlining and automating visual production processes. VSS products are stand-alone as necessary or may be integrated as fully customizable product packages. For more information or to contact VSS, visit www.virtualsitesimulations.com.
