T-Mobile Surpasses Sprint

During T-Mobile’s conference call discussing fourth quarter earnings, CEO John Legere said the company is now the third largest wireless carrier, surpassing Sprint. T-mobile ended last year with 55 million total customers, and Sprint reported 55.9 million. However, Legere claims Sprint’s total includes 1.7 million wholesale customers that haven’t been active in months. Usually the industry excludes these customers if they have been inactive between 60-90 days, but Sprint changed that policy to six months. “So do the math,” Legere said, during the call. Legere didn’t comment too much when asked if the carrier was in talks with Google. But he did says that they have had a long relationship with the carrier and he’ll, “save my Google rumor bump for another time.”
