Early yesterday morning Aurora Insight, which measures global spectrum and usage for the wireless industry, successfully put into low earth orbit its third RF spectrum measurement satellite.

Satellite BRAVO was launched on ArianeSpace’s Vega Flight VV18 from Ghana, and will join its twin, named CHARLIE, in orbit with the mission to measure RF spectrum from space. The satellites carry Aurora Insight’s patented advanced RF sensor tech, which detects and measures a range of radio signals including 5G mmWave, 4G, LTE, 3G, IoT, CBRS, WiFi, and more.

Aurora’s first RF satellite, ALPHA, was launched in 2018, and the second, CHARLIE, was launched this past January.

“Network operators, tower companies, enterprises, and satellite communication companies use Aurora Insight’s information to inform critical business decisions ,” said Jennifer Alvarez, Aurora’s Co-Founder and CEO, “where to build new towers, how operators can deploy smarter, and how to invest more strategically. The rapid development of today’s digital economy has led to many businesses becoming increasingly reliant on empirical data on spectrum usage and wireless deployments. Aurora’s data-driven insights are especially useful to these organizations,” she said,  “helping them understand the incredibly complex spectrum environment that wireless communication relies on. Aurora Insight measures the radio frequency environment from the ground, from planes, and from space, to create comprehensive insights on the spectrum and wireless networks.”
