Earlier this week, the Portland Press Herald reported that a tower technician employed by Centerline Communications fell off a tower in Gorham, Maine. However, RCR Wireless recently reported that Centerline Communications said that the man was on the ground operating a cathead when the incident happened. “Even the police have walked back their initial report, claiming they never said anyone fell off of a structure, just reiterating that he was injured while removing cables and a section mount,” Jarad Matula of RCR Wireless wrote. According to the initial reports, the tower technician fell off the 300-foot tower while he was removing cables and a section mount. The Portland Press Herald reported the man sustained serious injuries, and the Maine Department of Labor is investigating this accident.
