A new chimney in the Hyde Park area of Cincinnati, Ohio, is raising some eyebrows; not because of its design but because of how large it is. Sprint is looking to install an even larger structure, which would mean the chimney would have to grow as well.  The Hyde Park Neighborhood Council went with the concealed tower to maintain the aesthetics in the area, but the structure hasn’t gone unnoticed. “It’s considerably larger,” said board member Gary Wollenweber, who is also chairman of council’s zoning committee. “We are working with [cell tower representatives] to try and improve the visual compatibility.” (Cincinnati.com) The new tower would need to be larger to accommodate a bigger antenna so Sprint could utilize their 2.5 GHz spectrum in the area. Many council members think that if the chimney gets any bigger, it will be out of scale with the building. The Council will make a recommendation once they have more specific details regarding the project.
