Inside Towers learned from sources over the weekend that a tower worker was killed, allegedly working on a Crown Castle site in the Atlanta region last Friday. The deceased worker, Devon Collins, was said by one source to be in a bucket truck transitioning to the tower when he slipped and fell. It is not known if he was tied off during the transition. An additional source reported Collins was transitioning from an aerial lift to a boom when the accident occurred.
No other details were available Sunday night.
Donations can be made to NATE’s Tower Family Foundation which helps support tower workers and/or their families who have been impacted by a post-accident or fatality situation. Bridgette Hester, President of the Hubble Foundation also said her organization will collect funds for Collins’ two daughters.
