VIAVI Enables Wireless Technicians to Visualize RF Waves

It’s often said that a picture is worth a thousand words. VIAVI Solutions Inc.  (NASDAQ: VIAV) is bringing this idea to life by incorporating RF Viewer, a new Augmented Reality tool, into its OneAdvisor 800 Wireless test platform, an all-in-one tool for telecom testing needs. RF Viewer aims to improve telecom connections, network deployment, smart building design, and RF safety assessments by allowing users to see and interact with radio frequency signals in their real-world environments.

RF Viewer was developed through a partnership with Verizon Wireless (NYSE, NASDAQ: VZ). It offers intuitive, real-time monitoring of RF emissions by displaying signal strength over a coverage area on a live video feed. VIAVI says this innovative method allows users to accurately identify where RF signals are located, how strong they are, and how they are distributed, making complex RF analysis much more visually straightforward. 

RF Viewer offers live augmented reality overlays showing RF signal strength and distribution, provides real-time diagnostics for troubleshooting and optimization, and features an intuitive interface suitable for both experts and beginners. The company claims RF Viewer enhances the VIAVI OneAdvisor 800 Wireless with features like spectrum analysis, interference detection, and transport network validation, aiding in performance optimization and supporting progression to 5G Advanced and 6G.
