18 Idaho Broadband Projects Benefit from $120M In State Funding

The Idaho Broadband Advisory Board was awarded $120 million from the state’s Capital Projects Fund to help finance 18 projects. Broadband Communities reported that over 30,000 homes and businesses statewide will get connected once various projects are completed.

According to the Advisory Board, planned broadband projects garnering the majority of funding include:

  • Latah County Dark Fiber Network ($15 million)
  • Madison County’s FyberCom Fiber Initiative ($13 million)
  • Idaho County’s Orofino to Grangeville Fiber Optic Conduit Project ($11.5 million)
  • Jerome County’s fiber-to-the-home and fixed wireless access project ($10.8 million)

“These grants are the culmination of months working together and engaging stakeholders, local communities, and internet providers all across the State,” said Idaho Broadband Program Manager Ramón Hobdey-Sánchez.
