Residents in Dinuba, California, have been frustrated with their AT&T cell service for quite some time, and have taken to local newspapers and social media to voice their unhappiness. “I feel like because Dinuba is such a small community AT&T just does not care that we have a service issue. If they are not going to fix their towers then they need to let their customers know so we can change providers,” said resident Debbie Sylvester. (The Dinuba Sentinel) Cristy Myers, Executive Director for Miss Dinuba and co-owner of Marilyn & Cristy’s Embroidery, is on her cell phone constantly. “I use my phone for everything. I work with it, I keep in contact with my kids with it. We don’t have a home phone anymore so we are kind of stuck with the cell phones. They have no coverage, no service and texts won’t go through,” Myers told The Dinuba Sentinel. Myers said that it can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour to send a text message. One of the Myers’ and Sylvester’s largest concerns is their children’s safety when they aren’t home. Neither of the families have a home phone and both rely solely on their cell phone service, the news outlet explained. AT&T said they became aware of problems in Dinuba last week. A spokesperson from AT&T states, “We are definitely aware of the issues in Dinuba. No towers are down and if they are down they aren’t ours. As of today all of the issues have been resolved.” (The Dinuba Sentinel) Some residents have seen better service since then, but others are still having issues
