Deutsche Telekom Names New Head of IoT

Rami Avidan, most recently CEO of Tele2 IoT, will take over as Senior Vice President of the of Internet of Things (IoT) for Deutsche Telekom (DT), owner of T-Mobile, effective April 1, 2019.

“I am very pleased that Rami Avidan has decided to join T-Systems. He has the proven attributes needed to build, drive and lead a business, from a financial, technical, as well as sales and marketing perspective,” Adel Al-Saleh, Deutsche Telekom Board Member and T-Systems CEO.

Rami Avidan served as CEO of Tele2 IoT until September 2018. Over the last six years, he built up the Internet of Things division for the Swedish telecommunications company. During his time there, Tele2 IoT became one of the leading IoT Mobile Network Operators (MNO) in the world as recognized by leading analysts, according to a DT press release.  Before joining Tele2 in 2013, Rami Avidan held various leadership positions at telecommunications and IT security companies, such as Wyless Group Ltd and Cryptzone Group AB.
