A man was arrested on Friday by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department after finding four deep-cycle batteries in the man’s garage. The Sheriff’s Department said the batteries had been stolen the previous day from a cell tower site next to State Route 330, according to the Redlands Community News.
The suspect, 32-year-old Kenneth McFarlane, is accused of cutting two padlocks to access a San Bernardino Verizon cell tower site and battery storage steel cabinet. Four deep-cycle batteries, which were used to power the cell tower site, were stolen, said the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in a press release.
McFarlane, who was on felony probation, was arrested and booked for grand theft and possession of stolen property. The cell tower batteries were recovered and returned.
