NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association announced yesterday that the registration process is officially open for the PPE for Telecom Workers: Hazard ID, Selection, and Use Training Courses that will be facilitated by the Association in 2024. Overall, twelve training courses will be available nationwide to industry employers and their employees through NATE and a Susan Harwood Training Grant from OSHA.
NATE is planning to host these complimentary, grant-enabled training sessions in Des Moines, IA; Memphis, TN (two sessions); Kankakee, IL; Providence (Warwick), RI; Denver, CO; Tustin, CA; Mobile, AL; Philadelphia, PA; Frisco, TX; Louisville, KY, and Tampa, FL in 2024.
The new curriculum is tailored specifically to the use of personal protective equipment, with an emphasis on hazard identification, selection, and proper use of PPE that is paramount to understand to keep telecommunications workers safe while building and maintaining next generation wireless sites. Additionally, the curriculum includes pertinent OSHA information regarding employer responsibilities, worker rights, and whistleblower laws and complaint procedures (including time constraints).
