Deutsche Telekom is expected to begin deployments of a temporary “mini-mast” company premises, large construction sites and special events in the first half of this year. The mini-masts were trialed at the Digital X 2023 World Exhibition of Digitalization in Cologne, Germany last fall to provide additional mobile coverage and at the Nibirii Festival in Düren, Germany, with over 30,000 fans of electronic music.
The micro container, which measures 8.5 feet tall, can be connected to a local power supply or any other mobile energy source. The connection to the data network is possible via fiber optic cable as well as radio relay. Continue Reading
“The special thing about this mast is that it is significantly smaller, lighter and more flexible than previous ones,” said Hagen Rickmann, Managing Director of Business Customers at Telekom Deutschland GmbH. “The mobile mast saves space and is easy to transport. It can be set up by one person in less than an hour – and is ready to use straight away.”
Deutsche Telekom has offered the micro-container free of charge to companies for testing for up to six weeks. The pilots will end on March 31, 2024.
