China Sends 6G Satellite into Low Earth Orbit

6G is still in the early, early planning stages here on planet earth, but China Mobile has already  launched an experimental 6G LEO satellite into low earth orbit, along with a 5G satellite. Both are part of its efforts to develop non-terrestrial 5G and 6G networks, according to China Global Television Network

The 6G satellite was jointly developed by China Mobile and the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The 5G satellite will be co-developed by the state-owned telecom operator China Mobile and the Chinese satellite internet company UBINEXUS. 

“China Mobile said it will carry out in-orbit tests based on the experimental satellites to further accelerate the development of satellite-Earth technologies,” CGTN said.
