The SATELLITE 2024 Conference and Exhibition has new keynotes and headlining speakers for the event, which is taking place today through Thursday, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
Today, Monday, March 18, attendees will hear from Dr. Troy E. Meink, principal deputy director of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and Dr. Derek Tournear, director of the Space Development Agency, during the Government & Military Forum Opening Keynote. Dr. Meink provides overall day-to-day management of the NRO, with decision responsibility as delegated by the Director. Dr. Tournear is responsible for unifying and integrating the Department’s space development efforts, monitoring the Department’s threat-driven future space architecture, and accelerating fielding of new military space capabilities.
“Are Satellites Making Progress in their Ultimate Mission to Close the Digital Divide?” is a session slated for this morning. Speakers include Astranis Space Technologies CEO John Gedmark; Intelsat Networks US VP/GM Jean-Philippe Gillet; Eutelsat Chief Operations Officer Massimiliano Ladovaz; Thuraya Yahsat Chief Business Development Officer Jassem Nasser; Hispasat CCO Ignacio Sanchis and Hughes International EVP/GM Ramesh Ramaswamy.
