In its fifth annual Fleet Technology Trends Report, based on a survey of 543 fleet management professionals, Verizon Connect highlights a steady increase in the use of GPS fleet tracking, in-cab video solutions, and predictive analytics. These technologies are helping fleet managers adjust to rising costs, evolving regulations, and competitive pressures. The report concludes that with consistent growth in adoption rates and proven return on investment, these technologies are empowering fleets across industries to enhance efficiency, improve safety, and navigate sustainability challenges.

Key U.S. findings include:

  • Widespread adoption of fleet technology, primarily GPS fleet tracking.
  • Reduced costs and rapid payback with nearly half of respondents achieving a positive ROI within a year from GPS fleet tracking of assets and field service/workforce management solutions.
  • Safety enhancement and efficiency using GPS fleet tracking and in-cab video solutions to help reduce distracted driving incidents and improve coaching sessions, leading to substantial reductions in accident and insurance costs.
