Toptana Technologies announced the next stage of its regional network expansion, featuring the creation of a dedicated East-West fiber route in partnership with MOX Networks and Assured Communications. This initiative will establish a specialized fiber route that links Toptana’s cable landing station (CLS) in Ocean Shores, WA, with major connectivity corridors in Seattle, WA, and Hillsboro, OR. Toptana Technologies, an Indigenous-owned internet infrastructure firm, is based in Taholah, WA, on the Quinault Indian Nation reservation.
This new route extends the previously completed North-South fiber route constructed in partnership with MOX Networks that spans from Seattle to Portland and Hillsboro, expanding the network’s reach and improving infrastructure resiliency across the Pacific Northwest. Toptana, MOX, and Assured provide scalable, high capacity backhaul to meet growing demand for cloud, AI, and edge computing.
Located on the Olympic Peninsula, Toptana’s CLS is set to become an important interconnection point for subsea cables, offering route diversity and positioning Ocean Shores as a strategic hub for digital infrastructure growth between the Seattle and Hillsboro data center hubs, and markets across the Pacific.
Assured Communications says that it is managing the venture on behalf of Toptana, overseeing all aspects of the initiative from feasibility and design through engineering, construction, and go-to-market. In addition to managing development of the CLS and fiber backhaul infrastructure, Assured claims its expertise is in delivering turnkey, mission-critical infrastructure facilities to ensure the project meets standards of reliability and performance.
With this East-West expansion, Toptana, MOX, and Assured are setting the foundation for long-term regional growth and improved global connectivity, according to the companies.
“With this expansion, we’re continuing our mission to bring meaningful connectivity to the Pacific Northwest, starting with our Indigenous-led infrastructure at Ocean Shores,” said Jeff Capoeman, Chairperson of the Board of Toptana Technologies. “This route not only supports current demand but also positions the region for long-term digital growth.”
