APCO 2025 Covers the Public Safety Universe This Week

APCO’s 2025 Annual Conference & Expo opened yesterday and runs through Wednesday in Baltimore, MD, at the Baltimore Convention Center drawing public safety communications officials from all levels and locations. 

“The conference committee has been busy working with APCO’s events team ensuring APCO Baltimore is the best conference yet,” said conference co-chair Tom Ward. “All hands are on deck at the chapter, state and local level,” Ward wrote. “We’ve partnered with Visit Baltimore to make sure that all city stakeholders are on board with the conference and ready to welcome the public safety communications industry to Charm City. We’ve partnered with Baltimore City and allied law enforcement agencies to make the event a safe and smooth experience for all.”

Today’s Keynote speaker for the opening General Session is Brett Culp, a filmmaker and storyteller who will speak on “Inspiring Performance and Potential in Work and Life.” Monday’s session topics include “The Cellular Space Race Continues,” “FirstNet, ESInet, and Hurricanes, Oh My!” and “How does MCPTT differ from traditional Push-to-Talk?” To see the full agenda of sessions, click here.

APCO issued an announcement that 15 individuals have earned the Certified Public-Safety Executive (CPE) designation, after recently completing the Certified Public-Safety Executive (CPE) Program, an intensive six-month program and a two-week capstone seminar at APCO headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida. APCO will accept applications through January 15 for the next CPE program, which begins March 2026.
