AT&T has acquired 32 cell phone towers as a way to boost cell phone coverage in northeast Wisconsin. There are towers located in Brown, Door, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Kewaunee counties according to Rick Barrett of the Journal Sentinel. AT&T didn’t disclose who they acquired the towers from but they will be converted to AT&T service soon.
“The addition of the towers will add to network improvements AT&T completed in the area in 2012, including 4G LTE service in Green Bay. From 2010 through 2012, the company says it spent nearly $725 million on wireless and wired networks in Wisconsin,” Barrett reported.
