Airspan Focuses on Open RAN, Private Networks

UPDATE After Reliance Jio’s Radisys Corp bought Mimosa Networks from Airspan Networks Holdings Inc. last week, the OEM is sharpening its focus as a pure-play in 4G/5G Open RAN and private networks provider.

With over one million cells shipped to 1,000 customers in more than 100 countries, Airspan believes it has sufficient scale in 5G indoor and outdoor, Open RAN and private networks in the fixed wireless, enterprise and industrial use markets. 

In February, Airspan announced the launch of the Airspan Partner Program to promote the worldwide commercial expansion of its private networks solutions. The program is designed to enable cloud providers, system integrators and managed service providers to access a structured path towards a “Partner of Choice” Certification that will be granted by Airspan. 

Airspan already has several partners – namely, Alsatis (France), AWTG (Germany), Boldyn Networks, formerly BAI Communications (United Kingdom), Betacom (United States), Cocus (Germany), Logicalis (United States), Mitsui Knowledge Industries (Japan), NTT Ltd. (Germany), Siticom (Germany) and Telpass (France).
