Despite the company’s name, American Tower Corporation is making waves in the international market. The company reported revenue of $1.006 billion during their second quarter conference call on Wednesday. “Our strategy of acquiring less mature, higher growth assets in international markets has boosted our organic growth rates and we would expect that trend to continue in the future. On a consolidated basis, we expect organic core revenue growth in 2014 to be about 10.6%. In addition, while not yet included in our core organic metrics, the portfolios we have acquired over the last year are outperforming expectations,” said Tom Barlett, CFO and EVP of American Tower. “Organic core revenue growth in the U.S. continues to benefit from our tenants increasing to coverage in capacity with the 4G networks. Internationally, key customers like Airtel, Vodafone and Telefónica are making sizeable network investments as their customer base is adopting increasingly advanced wireless services.” The company will continue to capitalize on these organic growth trends while adding high quality assets through acquisitions. They expect to close their BR Towers transaction during the fourth quarter and further expand their presence in Brazil.
