Originally, AR primarily made single RF/Microwave amplifiers for benchtop use, but over the years they migrated into state-of-the-art high power amplifiers, systems, accessories and antennas for electromagnetic compliance (EMC) and much more.

Joe Diesso, vice president of marketing, said AR recently assembled a board of directors with a diverse group of professionals to help assure that the organization remains on its path of success well into the future. This group has varied expertise in the fields of finance, consulting and manufacturing. Each member was chosen for the skills in their respective fields which will further the company’s goals in this advisory capacity.

The most important use for RF energy is in providing telecommunications services. Radio and television broadcasting, cellular telephones, radio communications for police and fire departments, amateur radio, microwave point-to-point links and satellite communications are just a few of the many telecommunications applications. It’s important that products and systems be able to operate in their electromagnetic environment and not introduce intolerable electromagnetic disturbances back into the environment or be affected by them. Before a product or system hits the marketplace, it must be tested for RF radiated and conducted immunity and emissions. To be able to generate the electric fields necessary for RF immunity testing, AR has amplifiers and antennas that cover frequencies from DC to 50 GHz and output power levels from 1 watt to 50,000 watts, depending on the frequency.

AR recently came out with a line of RF safety meters that measure the electromagnetic field associated with transmitting antennas that are integral to wireless towers. The safety meters check the strength to make sure it’s at reasonable levels for human exposure.

The headquarters of AR are in Souderton, PA, with more than 200 employees around the world. For more information, go here or dial 215-723-8181.
