AT&T (NYSE: T) has finalized agreements with the Communications Workers of America (CWA) in the Southeast and West, covering about 23,000 employees across 11 states. The agreements bring wage increases for workers: those in the West will see a 15 percent raise over the course of the four-year contract, while employees in the Southeast will benefit from a 19 percent wage hike during a new five-year contract, according to Reuters.

In August, more than 17,000 AT&T workers, including technicians and customer service representatives responsible for maintaining and supporting the company’s wireline telecommunications network, went on strike, protesting unfair labor practices.

As part of the agreement, workers in the Southeast, particularly wire technicians and utility operations professionals, will receive an additional three percent wage boost through the federal Infrastructure Bill. This agreement follows a period of contentious negotiations, during which the CWA withdrew from mediation in September, accusing AT&T of using mediation as a delaying tactic.
