UPDATE: Jessica Rosenworcel might not want to unpack her bags. Last night, President Barack Obama reappointed her to a second term at the FCC. As Inside Towers reported yesterday, the former commissioner’s term was up and she was not confirmed for another one by the 114th Congress.
Rosenworcel even gave an exit statement, noting it was “an honor, a privilege, and a wild ride serving as Commissioner,” and that the experience convinced her “truly, madly, deeply — that the future belongs to the connected.”
In a press release issued last night, Chairman Wheeler, who offered to resign in exchange for Senate approval of Rosenworcel, reacted to the reappointment, “I applaud President Obama’s reappointment of Jessica Rosenworcel to the FCC, and hope that Congress will act quickly to confirm her nomination.”
Similarly, According to The Hill, Justin Goodman, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) spokesman, stated he was “pleased to see President Obama renominate her today, and hopes that her nomination can move forward quickly.”
Rosenworcel, a Democrat, would bring the FCC scale back to 2-2.
