Bluebird Network, a fiber and data center infrastructure operator headquartered outside St. Louis, MO, announced the completion of its acquisition of fiber network assets from Missouri Telecom Inc. (MTI). This purchase delivers a new level of service to four Missouri communities – Mount Vernon, Monett, Nevada, and Aurora.
Connecting Bluebird’s network to these communities opens up the full suite of new services for customers in the region, who now have access to dedicated internet, data center solutions, Ethernet connectivity and private cloud access.
In addition to adding 40 miles of fiber route miles to Bluebird’s network, the company established three new points-of-presence in Southwest Missouri.
Bluebird’s vision is to have a fiber presence in 80 percent of communities across the company’s 11-state footprint with a population greater than 10,000 people. This acquisition advances Bluebird’s growth strategy across the Midwestern United States.
“These network assets complement Bluebird’s existing fiber footprint while bringing us closer to our long-term goals,” says Michael Morey, Bluebird Network President and CEO. “This acquisition allows Bluebird to expand and strengthen our network services, specifically for communities in Southwest Missouri and offer those communities a new era of productivity.”
The acquisition helps these southwest Missouri communities leverage Bluebird’s existing underground data center facility in nearby Springfield, MO, and complements existing fiber services.
According to the company, the MTI acquisition bolsters Bluebird’s growing state-of-the-art fiber footprint in the region and enables more businesses and organizations throughout the Midwest to take control of their digital transformation.
