Boldyn Networks’ $329 million global investment in private networks will focus on Spain, the company said this week. Boldyn is “accelerating Spain’s digital transformation through capital investment” in bespoke networks for complex environments, according to the company. Boldyn’s entrance into the Spanish market follows network deployments in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland, Italy, France and Hong Kong.

To begin the effort, the shared network infrastructure provider has deployed the first private 5G network in the chemical industry at the BASF facility in Tarragona, Spain. Specifically,  the private network improves connectivity, process optimization, and traffic throughout BASF’s facilities.

“Spain is a very important country in our strategic plan to offer cutting-edge connectivity solutions to enterprise customers and to support them with their digitalisation process,” said David de Celis, Country Manager for Spain at Boldyn Networks. “The collaboration with BASF represents a significant milestone for our company.”

The private network is providing Spanish enterprises with connectivity, which will serve as a foundation for their digital transformations, according to de Celis.

“We are offering customers to acquire Private 5G as a service, which includes bespoke service based on monthly fees, and without upfront capital investment,” de Celis said. “This offering provides more flexibility for the enterprises and enables them to retain capital for investments into their core business activities – which accelerates their digital transformation.”
