Business Is Kabooming for Texas Broadband Company

Rise Broadband burst on to the news recently when one of their work crews accidently hit a Floresville, TX gas main. The resulting explosion caused major damage to three houses, reports KENS-TV, but fortunately no individuals were hurt by the blast.

“It was an accident,” confirmed City Manager Andy Joslin. “Fortunately, our public safety officials took the precautions needed to prevent the loss of life.”

The accident was caused when Rockport Construction, a subcontractor engaged by Rise Broadband, hit a gas main while laying fiber cable. The incident occurred around 2 p.m., when fortunately, none of the residents were at home. 

In a statement released by Rise Broadband, the company noted, “Our company was made aware that a gas line was compromised by a construction crew installing fiber lines near Floresville, Texas at approximately 2 p.m. today. We learned that an explosion followed, and a house was damaged near H and J streets in Floresville. Our company has deployed management team members to the scene. We are fully cooperating with the city, local public works, and officials as they conduct a thorough investigation into this matter. We are very grateful to the first responders who answered the initial call and that there were no injuries or loss of life reported.” 

Residents interviewed by KENS-TV expressed their relief that no one was injured by the startling event. 

“I’m watching the men work over there and all of a sudden, a big explosion. I mean it was a big explosion,” said neighbor Joe Carillo. “I went, like, in shock, because I never witnessed nothing like this in my 67 years of living.”
