Canada’s STAC 2023 Opens First In-Person Conference Since 2019

The Structure, Tower & Antenna Council (STAC) is hosting its seventh annual conference this week in Niagara Falls, Ontario, welcoming more than 400 delegates from across North America. The conference features more than 20 educational sessions focused on tower safety and other industry topics such as fall protection, tower rigging, occupational health and safety regulations and industry workforce initiatives.

This year’s conference will also feature keynote presentations by:

  • CWTA President and CEO Robert Ghiz
  • Deloitte Canada TMT Director of Research Duncan Stewart
  • Ericsson Canada President Jeanette Irekvist 
  • Women in Communications and Technology board member Shann McGrail  

STAC 2023 marks the first in-person STAC conference since STAC 2019 in Montreal, following virtual events the past two years. This event each year is dedicated to safety and other best practices in the communications tower industry and will bring together industry professionals from across Canada. Expected attendees include representatives from wireless carriers, broadcasters, oil and gas companies, utility providers, tower engineers, contractors, manufacturers, safety trainers and safety equipment suppliers from across the communications and tower industries. 

“We are thrilled to bring everyone together again for what promises to be an exciting and educational few days in Niagara Falls,” said STAC Program Manager Mark Kinnear. “Tower industry personnel play an important role in helping ensure Canadians have access to world-class wireless services, and it’s important that they know how to do their jobs safely.”

  The annual STAC Post-Conference Outing offers attendees a chance to relax and unwind at the end of the event by enjoying great food and drinks with colleagues from across the industry. This year’s outing will take place at the Wayne Gretzky Estates following conference activities on Wednesday. 

Opening Remarks & State of STAC will be provided by:
