CCA’s Annual Convention kicked off yesterday with industry leaders examining advances in AI, 5G connectivity and broadband access. Public policy initiatives affecting competitive carriers will be addressed including spectrum access, “Rip and Replace,” and Universal Service Fund support. CCA’s Annual Convention concludes today, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. All keynote sessions are being live streamed.
Tim Donovan, President and CEO of CCA, opened the keynote program on Wednesday. Addressing advancements in artificial intelligence, Donovan remarked, “We find ourselves at an inflection point, with revolutions in technology including AI and space … posing both great challenges and great opportunities for all of us.”
In Wednesday’s keynote panel, “A Conversation with Industry Titans,” former FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn, Principal, MLC Strategies, LLC and Hu Meena, CEO, C Spire discussed successful strategies carriers need to deploy to remain competitive in the 5G market, current spectrum auction authority, the 5G fund, and offered advice for the next generation of wireless leaders.
On Tuesday night, the industry honored Steven K. Berry, former president and CEO of CCA, at a reception. “CCA and its members extend our thanks and gratitude to Steve Berry for his many years of leadership that have helped carriers grow their business, deliver innovative products and services, and prepare for the future,” said Donovan. “I’d also like to thank our speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors for sharing their insights and best practices as we come together to discuss harnessing the power of AI, the need for broadband resources, and advances in cybersecurity,” concluded Donovan.
The exhibit floor is showcasing technology from companies including Ericsson, Interop Technologies, Nokia, Syniverse, Parallel Wireless, TNS, and others.
