The Wireless Infrastructure Association recently announced updates in COVID protocols for the upcoming Connect (X) show in October in Orlando. The new guidelines were posted July 22, 2021.
In a statement, the association said it is committed to the “health and safety of our attendees, vendor partners, and staff. To protect all stakeholders, we will be following CDC and local guidelines.” For those unable to attend in person, WIA will be offering programming through an online platform which will include sessions, meeting setting, and networking opportunities.
Guidelines include:
- Testing/Vaccination: Attendees are encouraged to be vaccinated or have a negative PCR test within three days of traveling to Connect (X).
- Name badges and lanyards: Name badges will be available for print on demand pickup. Lanyards will be self-selected. Conference bags will be available for pickup.
- Masks: WIA requires Connect (X) attendees to wear masks indoors unless consuming food and beverage.
- Hand Sanitizer: Personal-sized hand sanitizer will be provided to you in your registration bag. Hand sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the meeting space.
- Food & beverage: In partnership with its venue partners, WIA will be providing responsible food and beverage setups, barriers, and seating for all meeting spaces. Room setup and spacing will be in accordance with current CDC guidelines.
- Hybrid Event Components; Content will be streamed via Connect (X)’s virtual platform for those who are unable to attend the live event. Exclusive online-only content will be offered. Meetings may be set with Connect (X) attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors through the platform.
- Personal Accountability Commitment: By attending the 2021 Connectivity Expo, you agree to abide by and engage in certain health-and-safety beneficial conduct while attending the event. This includes, but is not limited to, self-reporting COVID-19 illness, respectfully abiding by requests from venue and WIA staff, and excusing yourself from the event if you are ill or have recently been exposed to COVID-19.
