When a base jumper in Wisconsin, identified by police as Mason Barth, decided to throw caution to the wind and jump off the 300-foot structure, he may not have factored the actual wind into it. On his short trip to the ground, the 20-year-old drifted enough off course that his chute caught onto one of the tower’s guy wires, according to WTMJ-TV.
His rapid-style descent was halted about 50 feet off the ground where Barth had to call 911 to rescue him.
Fire Department High Rescue responders showed up and used a cherry picker to gather the daredevil and his chute. He was treated at Mayo Menomonie and released uninjured. He has been charged with criminal trespass to property.
