Recognizing the critical role connectivity plays in crew welfare, satellite wireless service provider Inmarsat announced that it will deliver 250 MB of free data to active Fleet Hotspot accounts on December 24, 2021. The seasonal gift will be automatically topped up to all active crew accounts and the balance can be checked at this link.
The free 250 MB can be used for a variety of connectivity and are equivalent to:
- up to five hours of free calling to friends or family across a range of applications like WhatsApp, Facebook and others
- up to 4 hours of social media use or internet browsing
- up to 100 standard emails
- up to 1 hour of music streaming
- up to 1.5 hours of podcast streaming
Inmarsat said it is pleased to make this gift as “a special thank you to seafarers for the work they do to keep the global economy running day in day out, year-round – often in difficult conditions.”
