UPDATE Last week, Inside Towers reported on an upcoming town hall meeting hosted by Crown Castle in its HQ’s backyard of Canonsburg, PA regarding a proposed 33-foot tower near two schools. According to Crown Castle, a tower is necessary to meet the demands of reliable connectivity in the area, which has increased by 200 percent over two years.

During Tuesday’s meeting, residents did not hold back when it came to voicing concerns and opposition to the project.

Residents are worried about radiation and health concerns for the children in proximity to the antenna, reported MSN

“I think it’s very disturbing that Crown Castle even considered putting any device that emits any type of radiation small or large within steps of where our children play on the playground,” said a local mother.

The tower’s approval hinges on the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission since the proposed location is on a utility right-of-way. Per MSN, a date has not yet been set regarding the decision process.
