Everest Infrastructure Partners (EIP) today is announcing the formation of Everest Infrastructure ANZ to pursue acquisition and development of wireless communications infrastructure located in Australia and New Zealand.

“We are excited to launch this new business in partnership with funds committed by  Peppertree Capital Management,” said Matt Newton, CEO of Everest Infrastructure Partners, Inc. “The Australia and New Zealand markets for communications infrastructure are poised for strong growth over the next decade as network densification accelerates in urban and suburban locations. The deployment of new high and low band spectrum being auctioned in 2021, and the widespread rollout of 5G networks will be significant catalysts for this growth.”

“We are also pleased to announce that Will Heapy will lead the company as CEO of Everest Infrastructure ANZ,” continued Newton. “We have known Will as a skilled leader in this industry for many years. He brings substantial industry expertise to Everest with 20 years of executive leadership in the wireless infrastructure industry while based in both Australia and the U.S. Everest has been evaluating a number of international expansion opportunities over the past few years, and the opportunity to partner with Will coupled with the broadband growth outlook in Australia and New Zealand were the key factors in launching this new business.”

“This is an exciting time to launch an independent communications infrastructure platform in Australia and New Zealand with each of the major carriers actively deploying 5G and working to close the Digital Divide,” said Heapy. “Network investment is a priority for all mobile operators, Everest’s innovative business model will play an important role in serving the future infrastructure needs of our wireless carriers along with broadening the independent tower company market within Australia and New Zealand. The Everest team has enjoyed tremendous success as a tower owner and operator for many years in the U.S. and we expect to deliver a similar outcome with Everest Infrastructure ANZ.”

The launch of Everest Infrastructure ANZ is the first international expansion for Everest and brings total capital raised by EIP to more than $700 million.

“5G networks are enabling incredible innovation and mobile application availability for wireless users throughout the world. The ultra-high-speed and low-latency connectivity enabled by 5G mobility will require substantial amounts of global investment capital. Everest will continue to be a leader on the infrastructure side of this marketplace for many years to come,” said Newton.
