Yesterday’s agenda included an introduction to the Central and Latin America (CALA) tower market with Matthew Edwards, Product Director and Laura Graves, Global Head of Research and Content of TowerXchange. A keynote address entitled “Towards a Maturing CALA Tower Landscape” was delivered by Kurt Bagwell, President – International, SBA Communications. Bagwell touched on what a maturing CALA tower landscape means for towercos, contract renewals and key lessons learned, land acquisitions, and consolidation.
Bagwell’s address was followed by a panel discussion on the new DNA of CALA towercos. The session covered questions about the drivers behind the shift from steel and grass to a more all-encompassing role and how towercos can become infracos – or even netcos. In addition, he spoke on finding the right balance between innovation and investments.
Phoenix Tower International CEO Dagan Kasavana provided a second keynote address for the day.
