On Monday, Verizon published maps pin-pointing locations where its “5G Ultra Wideband with massive capacity, ultra-fast speeds and ultra-low latency” is available. The carrier said its 5G Ultra Wideband is now live in parts of select cities in locations (linked below) where “more people can experience ultra-fast speeds together.”
To deliver 5G, Verizon said a company must possess three fundamental assets:
- Massive spectrum holdings, particularly in the millimeter wave bands. This is the only spectrum available today with the bandwidth available to realize the maximum potential for capacity, throughput and latency.
- End-to-end deep fiber resources.
- Ability to deploy large numbers of small cells.
