Spanish network infrastructure operator Cellnex announced the acquisition of the remaining 10 percent stake in its Italian subsidiary, Galata from Wind, according to Telecompaper. No financial details were disclosed, although market sources previously indicated that Cellnex paid around EUR 87 million for the additional stake. The Spanish operator became the largest independent operator of wireless infrastructure in Italy in 2015 when it acquired Galata and its 7,377 towers from Wind for EUR 693 million, Telecompaper reported.
Cellnex recently reported revenues of EUR 381 million in the first half of 2017, up 12 percent on the year-earlier result, with total sites rising to 17,315, including 7,753 in Italy.
