Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) announced that Rachel Welch is joining its Government Affairs organization as Senior Vice President, Policy and External Affairs. She will lead the team responsible for developing the company’s public policy positions and building external partnerships to further shared policy objectives.
Welch joins Charter from Cox Enterprises, a communications, media and automotive services company. At Cox, Welch was Vice President of Government Affairs. She has spent her career in telecommunications in both the public and private sectors. Before her time at the former Time Warner Cable, she was Communications Counsel for the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation where she worked extensively on communications issues that came before Congress and the FCC. She also previously worked for Time Warner, Inc., Covington and Burling, AT&T and McCaw Cellular Communications.
