NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association and member companies SBA Communications and MILLERCO this week hosted a site visit from Congressman Mike Ezell who serves the Fourth Congressional District of Mississippi.
The Congressman toured the tower compound and learned about the work that is conducted daily by vertical real estate companies, contractors, and technicians to build, maintain and deploy communications sites and related wireless/broadband infrastructure.
The SBA tower site, in East Moss Point, is a new addition to the Jackson County Public Safety Network. MILLERCO is a Mississippi-based, NATE member contractor involved in the implementation of installing the P25 radio systems on towers in Jackson County. The radio system is being designed and implemented by Communications International. Congressman Ezell, as a former County Sheriff, said he appreciated the critical nature of a push to talk communications system more than most.
The event also provided a forum for Congressman Ezell to discuss the importance of broadband connectivity to Mississippi’s 4th District and his overall legislative priorities in the 118th Congress. Additionally, Moss Point Mayor Billy Knight, Pascagoula Mayor Mayor Jay Willis, Ocean Springs Mayor Kenny Holloway, Jackson County Supervisors Troy Ross and Ennit Morris, plus representatives from the county emergency communications were also on hand at the event.
“It was an honor to host Congressman Ezell today at the East Moss Point tower site,” stated David Sams, VP of Risk Management at SBA. “Today’s visit was a great opportunity to highlight the prominent role the wireless infrastructure industry plays in enabling public safety communications for first responders. Thank you to NATE and MILLERCO for partnering with us on this important outreach and to Congressman Ezell for his ongoing support for our industry’s priorities,” added Sams.
