Last Friday, the Oklahoma Broadband Office (OBO) released an interactive online broadband map. KFOR-TV reported that The Oklahoma Broadband Map provides state-wide access for residents to track improvements in broadband infrastructure, made possible by federal grants.
“The Oklahoma-specific map will serve as a guide to the success of our mission to ensure high-speed internet service is available to everyone – including the nearly 750,000 Oklahomans who lack such service today,” said OBO Executive Director Mike Sanders.
Version 1.0 of the interactive map allows Oklahomans to:
- Search addresses
- View unserved/underserved/served locations
- Distinguish between different technologies in use
- See reported internet speeds by location
- View areas receiving upgrades through federal grant funds
- KFOR reported that a “version 2.0” will be launched later this year.
