The quest to enhance metrics, capabilities, and customer satisfaction in the telecom landscape can be aided by a digital transformation, speakers from Esri said at a webinar this week. The panel explored how integrating land intelligence capabilities within a Digital Twin, using Esri’s ArcGIS, can improve and transform decision-making processes and operational efficiencies of the telecommunications industry.
The panel, which consisted of Randall René, Industry Solutions Director, Telecommunications at Esri and Patrick Huls, Solution Director Team Lead at Esri, discussed how land intelligence GIS can support optimal site specification, network design optimization, and even environmental risk assessment.
“Every organization, regardless of the size, needs much more than a map these days to accomplish their goals,” René said. “Teams are craving vast amounts of information in support of the work that they’re doing. These goals that they have are all tied to things such as financial responsibility throughout all aspects of the organization. They’re tied to productivity, whether it’s in the field or in planning and design, in engineering, or even our sales teams, and call centers.”
To achieve those goals, teams need to leverage real time insight and understanding to accomplish those standards. “Ultimately, they need to gain expedited decision making by eliminating some of the legacy workflows or ways that people access information,” Huls said. “Then also, at the root of all of it is those simplified workflows and that ability to quickly and easily collaborate in real time.”
