EML: Unfaltering Commitment to Calibration

Electronic Metrology Laboratory, LLC (EML, LLC) has provided the telecommunications industry with calibration services for over 20 years. EML provides National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable calibration services for electronic, physical and dimensional test and measuring equipment.

The company’s expansion required a revamped web presence and a larger establishment. EML recently launched a new website and moved into a new office in Nashville, TN.  “We needed a website that reflected the breadth and depth of our services and a bigger physical facility that would allow for our continued growth,” said Scott Barlow, CEO at EML. “This facility will better complement our mobile labs and allow us to provide better calibration support to our cellular and wireless partners.”

While progress in a pandemic hasn’t been the norm in many industries, EML is an essential business and has remained active during this time. “The need for strong networks has never been more apparent,” said Jason Powell, VP of Sales and Marketing. “The critical equipment that supports the networks that keep us connected needs to be calibrated in order to run properly.”

EML testing and calibration services include, but are not limited to:

  • Passive Intermodulation (PIM) Gear
  • Cable and Antenna Sweepers
  • Cell Fiber Testing, Ground Testers

According to Powell, EML has always had a great rapport within the communications industry and much of that has come from continuously evolving right along with it. At EML, much effort has been put into testing, implementing quality systems, and providing on-site capabilities over the years, servicing independent tower operators and major carriers nationwide.

“This new facility will help us to keep up with technology and continue to progress with the industry. Our internal efficiencies equate to time and cost-savings for our clients,” added Powell.

EML tailors its operations based on customer feedback to make the experience seamless. “We provide on-site calibration to bring fast and convenient service nationwide. This is an efficient method for our clients to get equipment calibrated quickly and minimize downtime. If there are any issues, we can fix devices right on-site in our mobile laboratory,” said Jeff Goble, EML Calibration Lab Manager. In their new facility, EML will have additional capacity to expand their services and cater to an expanding customer base.

EML also provides access to an online asset management platform. The system stores client resources, calibration date and expiration dates, plus sends out notifications of upcoming calibration requirements. “The web tool is especially useful for field service managers or owners to review all assets and make sure equipment is calibrated. EML provides access to this information 24/7,” noted Goble.

EML also provides NIST traceable, 17025 accredited calibrations for Electronic and Mechanical testing and measurement devices.  Since carriers require calibration compliance, EML’s clients can easily provide certifications. EML’s Quality Management System is registered to the ISO 17025:2005 quality standard and audited by a third-party.  This accreditation ensures our customers are getting accurate and compliant calibration.

EML’s longtime partners gladly vouch for the efficiency of their services. “Jeff Goble and his Team have been taking care of us for the past five years with professional onsite calibration for all of our testing equipment and yearly calibrations that are required in our industry,” said Randy Randolph, owner of Midland Tower Construction. “I recommend this to any company that has multiple units like we do. For many years we sent our testing equipment back to the manufacturer for its yearly calibration. Now we have about 18 to 20 units that require this service. It’s a very easy decision for me as a business owner to have Jeff’s Onsite Calibration team come to our Midland office on a Saturday morning to take care of all the calibrations in one day.”

“Communications is the backbone of this company, and we’ve been doing it a long time,” said Barlow. “We’re proud to serve the wireless industry to keep technicians safe and equipment calibrated.”

Electronic Metrology Laboratory, LLC (EML) is a Nashville based calibration company, certified by the Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation. Since 1997, EML has provided customers an unfaltering commitment to service and calibration. For more information or to contact a representative, visit https://www.emlcalibration.com/.
