Essentia, a North Carolina-based small cell and fiber turnkey solution provider, has hired Kent Newell as VP of Operations – Small Cell. In this role, Newell will direct small cell pre-construction and A&E, as well as lead the expansion of the company’s customer base deeper into and beyond the 40-plus states where it’s completed projects. The hire culminates a year of record growth for Essentia, which increased its workforce three-fold — with the bulk of the hiring related to operations — and plans to at least double it again in 2020.
Prior to joining Essentia, Newell Served as Vice President, Operations for Tillman Infrastructure, a tower development start-up. He also spent 18 years at Ericsson managing over $1B in 2G, 3G and 4G hardware, software and services delivery.
