FiberLight, LLC, the Atlanta-based fiber network operator, announced the appointments of Shane Ward as Chief Financial Officer and Chuck Girt as Chief Technology Officer. The company says these strategic C-Suite hires each bring unique and deep industry experience, and underscore FiberLight’s commitment to building and operating future-proof networks for an interconnected world.
As CFO, Ward will be instrumental in driving FiberLight’s financial strategies, focusing on organic growth, operational excellence, and leading transformative M&A initiatives. Ward brings more than 20 years of financial expertise spanning corporate finance and strategic growth initiatives. Most recently, he served as CFO at Lumos Fiber and before that, as CFO of CTI Towers. He has held key roles at American Tower and Sun Life Financial.
As CTO, Girt will focus on delivering a future-ready infrastructure to ensure FiberLight’s network is robust and adaptable with standardized network designs and constructing systems to meet the growing demands of a wide range of customers. Girt has over 30 years of experience designing resilient and scalable fiber networks. He joins FiberLight from Everstream Solutions where he led technology innovation and network architecture cross-functional teams that built a 13-state network from the ground up, deploying more than 27,000 fiber-miles and over 220 core nodes.
FiberLight builds and operates mission-critical high bandwidth networks with more than 19,000 route-miles of fiber mainly in Texas and southeastern states and 300,000 pre-qualified near-net buildings. The company sells wholesale fiber services and dark fiber to numerous vertical markets and communications service providers.
