Now entering its 50th year of lighting innovation, Flash Technology is a global leader in airfield and obstruction lighting products, technologies, and services for the telecommunications, broadcast, wind energy, airport, and utilities sectors.
Flash Technology joined the SPX Corporation brand portfolio in 2003, bringing to it the market leader in obstruction light systems and a National Operation Center that was the largest third-party monitoring operation in the United States. This Center provides 24/7/365 call center services and asset management. To date, Flash Technology has completed 43,000 broadcast and telecom system installations, 23,000 service projects, and 17,000 wind turbine installations.
Product and technical superiority, manufacturing excellence, and exceptional levels of customer service are the pillars of Flash Technology’s success. Field Services crews offer turnkey solutions including comprehensive site audits, FAA-compliant obstruction light and monitoring system installations, on-site maintenance and repairs, and lighting inspections to ensure installations are compliant with industry standards. Flash Technology also offers routine inspections, custom reporting and monitoring systems, lighting maintenance, and training services.
Integrating Voice of Customer (VoC) and technological advances, Flash Technology prides itself on a client-centric approach. From idea and concept, through product design and development, Flash Technology includes its customers at every phase to ensure satisfaction and speed to market. “Our customers are our number one focus,” said Wade Collins, Director of Business Development. “We are committed to keeping our customers informed, trained and compliant so they are up-to-date and able to navigate industry standards and regulations.”
Flash Technology sets itself apart from its competition through its flagship Flash University program. Instructors conduct at least one class each quarter at Flash Technology’s headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, and offer onsite training options throughout North America. Following NATE product and lighting standards, training sessions cover the various stages of product installation, safety practices, timesaving techniques, manufacturer requirements, and the latest FAA and FCC regulations.
After successfully passing a course assessment, participants receive a certificate of completion. Service companies can undergo a more extensive process through Field Services to become Flash Technology Qualified Service Providers (QSP). Flash Technology also brings training directly to its customers’ locations to keep them informed about FAA regulations through informational bulletins and active participation in industry events and conferences.
All of Flash Technology’s obstruction lighting products are 100% designed, assembled and supported from its 64,000 square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility in Franklin, Tennessee, and their Plano, Texas manufacturing facility, including the Vanguard product line, the most reliable and user-friendly LED system on the market. All products are ETL and CSA certified, and undergo state-of-the-art quality testing before shipment. The company provides solutions for L-856, L-864, L-865, L-866, L-885 and L-810 telecom tower lights in high intensity, medium intensity and catenary lighting categories.
