UPDATE Clark County, home to Las Vegas, NV, has approved a franchise agreement with Google Fiber (GFiber), reported the Las Vegas Review. Construction is anticipated to commence in the Las Vegas metro area towards the end of 2024, with plans to serve customers by mid-2025.

According to Ashley Church, the general manager of Google Fiber’s West region, the project will extend to neighborhoods in unincorporated county areas, not within Las Vegas city limits. However, determining which communities has not been solidified.

GFiber says it is committed to providing high-speed internet service via fiber optic and wireless millimeter wave technology in the communities it serves. Consumer service packages include the 1 Gbps entry-level service package priced at $70 per month and the 8 Gbps higher-tier options at $150 monthly, reported the Las Vegas Review.

The company currently has projects underway in a dozen states, some with multiple cities and metro areas touched by GFiber.
