Grain Management’s Trueline Infrastructure Solutions Shuts Down after Five Months

What began only five months ago with much fanfare, the launching of Grain Management’s Trueline Infrastructure Solutions, has ended with the company closing up shop. Dedicated in late September of 2024 to “build resilient, reliable next-generation infrastructure,” the company issued an email to employees last week saying it is closing operations.

“As many of you are aware,” the memo read, “Trueline has been facing unprecedented changes in the market, compounded by increasing competitive pressures. After carefully evaluating and pursuing all potential options to strengthen Trueline’s financial position, we have made the difficult decision to initiate a wind-down of our business.”

Headquartered in Myrtle Beach, SC, and boasting 68 satellite facilities across the country, the company announced the appointment of Rob Hughart as CEO on October 4.  Hughart served as the Interim CEO of Young’s Communication, Atlantic Engineering, and Fiber Optic Services, the three companies backed by Grain Management, LLC that came together to form Trueline Infrastructure Solutions in September. The company’s stated goal at the time was to create a business that “designs, constructs, deploys, and manages top-tier digital infrastructure for the telecommunications and utility industries.”

Social media sounded the first “canary-in-the-coal-mine” warnings about the company’s demise via individual postings from disenfranchised employees. William Cody Adkins, former Director of Materials & Facility Operations  for Trueline said, “Due to unexpected developments, my current employer, Trueline Infrastructure Solutions, has made the decision to file for bankruptcy. Despite this setback, I stand by my decision in joining this team as it has provided me with amazing opportunities to showcase my skills and grow as a leader.”

Sources said Trueline’s former environment, health and safety manager Darren Muljo, indicated that Hughart turned in his resignation just prior to the email signaling the shutdown. Karla Lunan, the company’s CFO had reportedly resigned in January.

The Trueline website has been taken down and representatives from Grain Management were not available to Inside Towers for comment.
