UPDATE More congratulations are coming in for FCC Commissioners Geoffrey Starks and Brendan Carr.
The Senate passed their reconfirmation to a second term late Saturday, Inside Towers reported. Carr’s term is for five years, retroactive to July 1, 2023, while Starks’ five-year term is retroactive to July 1, 2022.
“Commissioners Carr and Starks have been steady leaders at the FCC and the association looks forward to our ongoing, positive collaborations with these fine public servants and their professional staff on the myriad of policy issues confronting the communications infrastructure industry,” said NATE President/CEO Todd Schlekeway.
Competitive Carriers Association President/CEO Tim Donovan added the association “looks forward to continuing our collaborative efforts, particularly to preserve and expand mobile broadband access to every American. We hope that in cooperation with a fully confirmed FCC, together we can make significant headway on issues critical to the mobile wireless industry and the nation, including restoring the FCC’s lapsed auction authority and funding the ‘rip and replace’ shortfall threatening national security.”
