The Fall Showcase gives us another chance to explore the great companies, services and new products in the wireless infrastructure industry — not to mention the people who drive it. Through in-depth interviews, they told us about the innovation that is going on within our industry and how it is being impacted by a fluctuating market, economic trends and regulatory proceedings.
It’s no secret the wireless industry has pumped the brakes. Telecom companies, including general contractors and subcontractors, have found themselves stuck between the tier-one carrier slowdown and rising interest rates that pressure bank financing. Kompass Funding shares how the current state amplifies the importance of funding.
It’s not all doom and gloom, however. Ask Greg Rapisarda of telecom law firm Saul Ewing about problems stemming from the recent telecom capex downturn, and he will tell you about the new opportunities his firm is finding to solve his clients’ problems.
Petzl shares with us how working on a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP), such as a bucket truck, to deploy small cells or DAS networks may look less intimidating than clicking in at the top of a 199-foot cell tower but can be just as hazardous. Petzl’s three new factory-assembled MEWP Kits provide a simple, ready-to-use fall protection solution to help keep those who work-at-height in a boom or scissor lift and aerial platform safe.
Speaking of safety, PerfectVision’s Climb-Maxx brings innovation to the design of wire rope safety climbs. It was developed to address obstructions, maintenance problems, and to simplify pre-climb inspections. According to PerfectVision, wire rope safety climb top assembly is easier to install and maintain, and it works on the majority of cell towers.
Not in the mood to climb? Check out Ronin’s innovative power ascender. Ronin’s product line which is also used in the power utility, arboriculture, and military markets, will be added to Spartaco’s portfolio of tools, serving the power and gas utilities, broadband infrastructure, industrial/electrical, vegetation management, and military end segments.
Back to school, back to school! It’s that time of year and Drake is ready, adding “school” to its already long list of solutions. This new service offers a range of obstruction lighting training, covering system functions, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting techniques.
Take a broader look at your portfolio and how it’s being managed. Asentria shares how its products and solutions manage power, security, and environmental issues (an increasingly important subject) at remote sites, thereby improving the reliability and efficiency of their networks.
OneVizion also streamlines portfolio management with its new TowerVizion product. It melds the complexities of site-specific data with financial analytics, and this Platform as a Service (PaaS) amalgamates fragmented systems into a cohesive hub, centralizing everything from lease agreements to maintenance budgets.
How else can cell site management be improved? Raycap shares how excessive heat can cause equipment to malfunction and even fail, leading to service degradation or interruption. The potential problem can be easily avoided, however, by conducting thorough thermal analyses of cell sites in preparation for 5G rollouts and service upgrades.
Maybe you’re tired of your cell site altogether. Symphony Wireless can help with that. Symphony Wireless has three pillars in its business: acquisition, marketing, and management. Acquisition of cellular assets, marketing of those assets to potential lessees, and management of the site’s day to day needs and modernizations. You can even receive a lump sum payment upfront or enjoy a long-term revenue share.
