Investment Firm 26North Partners Rumored to Be in Talks with DigitalBridge

A consortium led by alternative investment firm 26North Partners is reportedly close to acquiring digital infrastructure fund manager DigitalBridge (NYSE: DBRG), according to IJGlobal. Energy trader Mercuria is said to be partnering with 26North on the deal, which could be finalized within days, according to Seeking Alpha

26North Partners is an alternative asset management firm founded in 2022 by Josh Harris, co-founder of Apollo Global Management and current owner of several major sports franchises, including the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils, and Washington Commanders. The firm launched with over $5 billion in assets under management and has since expanded to approximately $23 billion. 26North Partners operates across multiple asset classes, including private equity, credit, and insurance in an organization structure that aligns closely with DigitalBridge.

Following the news, DigitalBridge’s share price rose $2.32 or more than 24 percent to $11.83 at the market close on Thursday afternoon ahead of the market close.
